David Charles Thomas dies at his home in Spain

The news of the death of the designer has shaken the industry of the golf course, in particular the sectors related to the design.

The well-known golf course architect Dave Thomas dies at the age of 79 at his home in the Costa del Sol.

He was a professional golf player during twenty years and in its last phase he was devoted to the design of golf courses. He conceived more than a hundred fields around the world, more than fourteen in Spain -the half of them in Andalusia, where he lived for more than a decade.

Precisely in the Costa del Sol, Ignacio García was one of the few Spanish architects of golf courses who has worked with Dave Thomas.

Both were hired in 2001 to build 18 new holes for one of the golf clubs more international in the coast. Dave Thomas signed the initial design and Ignacio García the execution of works and the design of tourist interest.
