Good news for the orthodox Russians in Marbella

We are talking about the third temple in Spain, thanks to the transfer of the Town hall of 2519 meters of plot of land – in step. Besides the space reserved to the worship the building will possess a social and cultural center destined for the Russian community.

The project is in hands of a foundation – Fundación Iniciativa Ortodoxa – and still is in embryonic phase as The Opinion of Malaga says.

The architect Ignacio García will be the managing architect of the design of the temple and will rely on the support of a Russian colleague “who knows the whole symbols of this type of religious buildings”.

This project attends to a strong demand of the Russian community in Marbella and the Costa del Sol.

Nowadays the program includes a social and cultural center destined to attend to the forceful Russian community in Marbella and environment, as well as the own church, which could follow the classic aesthetics of the religious Russian buildings.

This temple will be the third church that is constructed in Spain, after one that exists in Alicante and other one that is executed in Madrid, in a plot of land of 756 square meters under the dedication of the Church of Christ’s Nativity.
