Architecture of shadows

IGGA introduces the technique of the theater of shadows in the design of objects and spaces.

This well-known popular game constitutes a remedy dramatic and a spectacle of magical origin in the theater of puppets and marionettes; as well as, a useful technique for the architect who designs architectural spaces or urban.

With these words Ignacio García, the founder of IGGA, the well-known international architecture practice, promotes the use of shadows in design and architecture.

García said:

The optical effect that occurs when you show objects between a light source and a clear surface generates innovative ideas which they are ahead of their time… As well, the primitive man who discovered the shadow in front of the fire of the cavern, not only was the first of ours in giving free rein to the imagination and creativity; also he had the opportunity to visualize the wheel long before it existed.
