River´s dream

The province of Seville might possess a new golf course of private initiative designed by the Spanish architect of golf courses Ignacio García.

It would be a golf design with 9 holes – Pitch and Putt – and an academy of golf nailed in a natural environment of incomparable beauty: the bank of the Rio Guadaíra, near Oromana’s Nature reserve in Alcalá de Guadaíra, to a step of the downtown of Seville.

For Ignacio García “The construction of this golf course would help to stimulate the environmental, recreative and existential recovery of the Río Guadaíra, sign of identity of Alcalá and source of inspiration of the design of the installation. The golf academy would promote a new way of Living Alcalá, opening a new space of meeting of the population in the Banks of the Guadaíra, where the leisure, the culture, the sport and the nature would be the protagonists of this unique environment recovered for the citizenship”.

In the sports scene, the field would extend the golf facilities of the province of Seville, one of the most popular areas in Andalusia, the fourth city of Spain in number of inhabitants, that has only six golf clubs (according to Real Federación Andaluza de Golf, on January 1, 2012), one of them in Alcalá de Guadaíra.

Info – Andalusian Royal Golf Federation, 1 January 2012.

On January 16, 2012 the architect Ignacio García visited the site for golf course with the promoter.

Soon, the public administration – autonomous and local – and the private investor will decide the future of this magnificent project, river´s dream.
