This past Saturday, the young cadet played a Gold League basketball game in the Malaga town of Torremolinos with the CB San Pedro 06-07 Rojo juniors, led by the well-known Croatian coach Davor Matkovic. Karpenko came out in the main quintet, he was the team’s MVP, he scored fifteen points, including four free throws out of four that he took and the decisive triple that gave the Sampedreños the victory against CB Miramar Torremolinos by 51 to 58. In addition, he recovered six balls , gave four assists, grabbed three rebounds, put up a block and received three fouls. However, Karpenko’s great feat was even greater. The last seven points that gave CBSP the victory were his signature.

Karpenko came to play only the first part of the match but a few minutes from the end he had to enter the court again. In the time played in the last quarter, the visiting team had lost a comfortable difference of eleven to five points and seemed knocked out. In fact, at 02:25 minutes, the Torremolinos team was only two points behind CB San Pedro’s team after the number fifteen hit a three-pointer, one of those that greatly encourages the home crowd, although they were the only three points that this player scored throughout the game. However, Karpenko’s entry changed the outcome. Barely 20 seconds passed after the local triple when the Marbella player unleashed his fury against the locals by scoring one of those triples that take your breath away. A minute later, he made two free throws. And with 34 seconds left, he made a two-point basket that gave the visitors the final victory.

A nice game to continue growing!
